GoLets

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

This policy explains what information GoLetsGo (the Android app and the website at goletsgo.app — "the service", "we") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. GoLetsGo helps people find and create meetups by category (cafes and bars, walks, board games, movies, sport, museums, and more) and lets venues publish their own events and discounts.

Who is responsible for your data

The controller of your personal data is Anatolii Tereshchenko, a private individual, Artvini Street 40, 4a, 0102 Tbilisi, Georgia. Contact: contact@golets.app. See also our Legal Notice.

Information we collect

Account information. By default you can browse the app anonymously. If you create a permanent account, we store the email address or Google account you use to sign in.

Profile information. Name, date of birth (used to check that you are 18 or over and to show your age — other users see only your age, not the date), gender, a short "about" description, your avatar and any photos you add to your gallery.

Location. Your device's GPS coordinates, used to show meetups near you and to place a meetup you create on the map. Location is only collected while you use the app.

Content you create. Meetups and events you post, your responses to other people's meetups, favourite places, and the messages and photos you send in chat.

Business information. If you register a venue account: business name, address, phone number, website, and branch locations.

Device and diagnostic information. A push-notification token (so we can deliver notifications to your device), and crash/diagnostic data used to find and fix bugs.

Reports and feedback. If you report another user or content, or send us a bug report or suggestion, we store what you submitted. Anyone, even without an account, can report content by email to contact@golets.app or, for property listings on goletshome.app, to contact@goletshome.app; we then also receive your email address and any name you include, and use them only to handle the report and reply to you.

Purchases. If you buy a subscription or additional branches, the payment is handled by Freemius (see below). We receive your subscription status, the email address used for the purchase, and order identifiers — never your full card details.

Usage statistics. Basic events such as signing in or creating a meetup, used to understand how the service is used and to improve it.

Advertising identifier (Android app). The free version of the Android app shows ads, which uses your device's advertising ID (see "Advertising" below).

How we use this information

Legal bases (for users in the EU/EEA and UK)

Sharing of information

We do not sell your information. Some information is inherently shared as part of using the app — for example, your profile and meetups are visible to other users, and messages you send are visible to the person you're chatting with. We also share information with the service providers listed below, only as needed to run the app.

Third-party services we use

GoLetsGo is built on Google Firebase and related Google Cloud services: Authentication, Firestore (database), Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging (push notifications), Crashlytics (crash and error reports — for example, when our server refuses a request from the app — including the names of the app screens opened just before the error), and App Check (verifies requests come from the real app). We also use Google Maps Platform for maps and address search, Google Sign-In, and Google Cloud Vision for automated photo moderation. We use Google Analytics for Firebase for usage statistics. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments — see Google's Privacy Policy.

Payments — Freemius. Purchases are processed by Freemius, Inc., which acts as the Merchant of Record: Freemius collects your payment and billing details directly and is responsible for them — see Freemius's Privacy Policy.

Advertising — Google AdMob (Android app). AdMob uses your device's advertising ID and information about your device and app usage to show and measure ads, and may show personalised ads. In the EU/EEA and UK, before any ads are requested we ask for your consent through Google's consent form, and you can change your choice at any time in the app (Profile → Ad privacy settings). In US states whose privacy laws give you the right to opt out of personalised advertising (for example, California), you can opt out in the same place. You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads). Buying the subscription removes ads. See how Google uses data for advertising.

Website only. On goletsgo.app we additionally use Sentry to receive error reports (technical details of the error and the names of the app screens opened just before it, browser and device type — no name or account details; from your connection Sentry may determine your approximate location, such as the city) and Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise to protect the service from bots — reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms. The website stores some data in your browser (local storage), such as your sign-in session, language, theme and the city you picked, so you don't have to set them again. reCAPTCHA also sets its own security cookie, used only to tell people from bots. Google Sign-In also sets a small cookie (g_state) that remembers whether you closed its sign-in prompt. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies on the website.

Visit statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit goletsgo.app and where they come from. It doesn't set cookies, doesn't store anything in your browser and doesn't build a profile of you. When a page loads, Cloudflare receives your IP address (used only to determine your approximate country, then discarded and not stored), the page address, the referring website and your browser and device type; we see only aggregated numbers. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where this involves data from the EU/EEA or UK, the transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Data storage and retention

GoLetsGo is "local-first": your data is stored on your device first, and synced to our servers in the background so it's available if you switch devices or sign back in. We keep your data until you delete your account, or as required by law. Reports and messages sent to us by email are kept as long as needed to handle them and any complaint about our decision.

Inactive accounts. If you use the app as a guest (without signing in) or haven't confirmed your email address, your account and the data saved with it (profile, photo, username) are deleted after 30 days without use; a guest session is also deleted when you sign in to an existing account on that device. A confirmed account (verified email or Google) is deleted after one year without use — if notifications are on, we'll remind you 7 days before. Opening the app resets the period.

When you delete your account, it is frozen for 30 days so you can restore it, and then permanently deleted (see how to delete your account). Messages you've sent stay visible to the person you were chatting with until they delete that conversation too. Deleted data may remain in our backups for up to 7 days before being overwritten.

Your choices

Your rights

Depending on where you live (in particular in the EU/EEA and UK), you have the right to access your personal data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw any consent you gave at any time (this doesn't affect processing before the withdrawal). To use these rights, email contact@golets.app. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the country where you live. If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law, you may have similar rights to access, correct and delete your data and to opt out of personalised advertising; use them the same way, and we won't treat you differently for doing so.

Children's privacy

GoLetsGo is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. See our Child Safety Standards for our policy on child sexual abuse and exploitation and how to report a concern.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access-controlled server rules that restrict who can read or write your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
